Pre-Christmas Festivities

One tradition we started a few years ago was drawing names of family members each week in the month of December and secretly doing acts of service.  This was one that I found on my bed (my pajamas laid out and a snowflake and picture).  So cute.  This seems to work really well the first couple of weeks and then everyone kind of slacks off :(.
Cute picture of Isaac leaning GQ style against the chair.
Decorating the tree.  Joseph and Emma were the ones most into it this year.  Look at that concentration!

I loved this moment with Joseph looking at the ornament of Michael.  So appropriate because he just adores Michael.
Attempting our first try at Gingerbread house building (and this was even from a kit).  We thought we started off pretty good....

Dad even got involved with the building.

And this was the final result.  Pretty obvious this was our first try at Gingerbread housing.

Can you tell it's starting to collapse?

Well, it did.  We turned it into a lesson about building things on a firm foundation (Jesus Christ) and remembering to read the instructions (we didn't let it sit for 15 minutes before decorating).

Here we are enjoying our collapsed house!

We will try again next year!
